How would you describe the sound and style of BLAX to someone who’s never heard your music?
The most appropriate way to describe our music is “Hard Goth” as the gothic influences meet a hard rock inspired sound.
Do you find that being from Italy brings a unique cultural influence to your music? In what ways does your Italian heritage impact your style?
We can say that our music is in a some way influenced by melodic music being our country the homeland of it.
Could you tell us more about your latest release? What themes or messages are you hoping to convey through it?
What we hope to do with our last release “Meravilia” is to let people feel like being part of Blax family through songs story telling.
What’s the biggest inspiration behind your latest album? Are there any specific experiences or stories that influenced it?
Our first album “Meravilia” was released in 2022. Starting from the fact that BLAX band represents a family where every musician has a specific role, “Meravilia” represents the place where this goth family live, as you can image from the album cover. Our album is thought as a concept album as the songs are meant to tell the stories around BLAX family, so a central narrative is present in the album.
Are there any tracks on your album that have a particularly special meaning to you? Which one, and why?
“Our Brain Condition” because is the exact representation of the BLAX .
How would you describe a typical BLAX live performance? What’s the energy like on stage?
We have a theatrical image to represent the Blax gothic family, so we try to get into character and let people who are listening being part of the family.
How does the interaction with fans influence your music or performances? Do you have any favorite fan stories?
The interactions with fans influence very much our performance in a good way if we see people involved in our music. Our favorite fan story is for sure the first time we saw someone who was singing the lyrics of our songs in front of us.
Do you remember your first live as BLAX?
Yes, It was in our own town, we were excited.
How do you see BLAX fitting into the international music scene? Are there specific countries or cities where you’d love to perform?
We think that our music can fit very well in the international music scene, cause it arrives to the heart easy. For sure USA would be a country we would like to play in.
Where do you see BLAX in the next few years? What are some of your short-term and long-term goals?
Short-term is release our second album, the long-term goal is to have the possibility to play our music for job, so like in five years we hope to have continued to produce new album and play them around the world.
